Our Exceptionally Small Classes

All of the language clases at Scuola Insieme have a maximum enrollment of only eight students and an averageenrollment of only five to six students per class. The language classes meet for four full 60-minute hours each weekday, Monday through Friday, even on Italian national holidays, such as "Ferragosto" (15 August). Students meet for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. This unique schedule guarantees a beneficial learning structure that allows students to absorb the new language in an easy and natural way. Between the morning and the afternoon classes, students have an opportunity to do some homework, which will often ask them to put into practice what they learned in the morning class by interacting with the friendly local inhabitants of the town. Because of the very small class size, there is an enriching interaction between students and teacher which allows for both effective collaboration and close monitoring of student progress through individual attention.
