Advanced Italian Literature and Literary Criticism | Italian Language Courses in Italy

A unique course at the very advanced level, designed especially for foreign graduate students of Italian and those who wish to bring their writing, reading, listening comprehension, and speaking skills to the highest level. It provides the opportunity to work on a broad range of literary and non-literary material, drawing from opera, cinema, radio programs, contemporary debates, theater, prose, and poetry. In addition to concentrating on advanced vocabulary acquisition and oral expression, the structure of this course will focus on complex syntax, semantics, as well as lexical exercises based on literary texts. Lastly, the class studies advanced literary theories through the close reading of Eco's "In nome della rosa" and other texts.
