In preparation for the British Grand Prix, a track shootout against some of Britain’s most iconic means of transport took place against a super fast Red Bull Racing Honda Formula 1 car.

The “Best of British” battle brought out some iconic members of British transport history, including a black cab, a red double-decker bus and even a Supermarine Spitfire.

With the Spitfire, Black Taxi and Red Bus confirmed, Red Bull rounded out the list of vehicles that epitomize British culture by adding a car filled with summer festival goers and that notorious symbol on British roads, the white van.

Against the list of handpicked British icons, the two-time Red Bull F1 Championship winner RB7 will take on the big beasts of British transport in a fight to the finish line ahead of this weekend’s race.

During the meeting, the black taxi even managed to thrill on the tarmac by making donuts causing skid marks!

Located right next to Red Bull Racing Honda’s tech campus in Milton Keynes, the British Grand Prix is a hugely important race for the team and its riders, as Max explains.

“The British love their motorsport which is special to see so I’m always very happy to be in the country but of course being at Silverstone is even better. It was great to see all these typical British vehicles on track with the RB7 and I hope the fans will enjoy this little bit of fun ahead of the weekend race.

Christian Horner, CEO and Team Principal of Red Bull Racing Honda, added: “I think Silverstone is going to be a big challenge. It’s been a Mercedes stronghold for several years now, but it’s another chance to see how we fare on a different track. And of course, with the premiere of the new Sprint races this year, it will be a new event format and additional points will be available. Whatever happens it will be a really exciting weekend and we are ready for the fight.
