Dubai introduces Tesla Model 3 to its taxi fleet


After the huge success of operating 172 Tesla vehicles as limousines, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will now add the Tesla Model 3 to the Dubai Taxi Corporation fleet on a trial basis.

“In 2017, the RTA commenced the operation of 172 Tesla vehicles as part of Dubai Taxi’s limousine fleet consisting of 80 Tesla Model S, 50 Tesla Model X and 42 Tesla Model 3,” said the Managing Director and the RTA Board of Directors. said Chairman of the Executive Directors, Mattar Al Tayer.

“These vehicles have recorded positive operational efficiency indicators, particularly in terms of zero carbon emissions and a high customer satisfaction rate.”

The Dubai Taxi Corporation deploys Teslas around the clock in Dubai and the rest of the emirate, serving all major landmarks and events.

“The success of the 2017 experiment inspires us to expand the scope of use of electric vehicles as part of Dubai’s taxi fleet over the next few years,” said Mr Al Tayer.

“He supports the initiative to convert 90% of Dubai’s limousine fleet to green (hybrid/electric) vehicles by 2026. The initiative is the first of its kind in the world to adopt a semi-total transformation of limousines. in environmentally friendly vehicles.
